I'm back... and at University!

Hi,

I haven't posted on this blog for over half a year.

Well I'm still here, still got this blog, if it's any conciliation I haven't made a video in 4 or so months but that's also bad.

My life has been busy since the beginning of September when I started University and started to, in other words get my degree in film. I also moved when in time for uni to start and I'm coping with that nicely as well, dealing with the 'not being at home' part of it, that said I go home every so often, I'm at home when writing this particular post. The classes are good made some friends. I also got a job.

Anyway, I'm presuming you guys would expect a film student to watch films, maybe even more so than other people and students of other subjects... But, no. I haven't really watched a single film since I've been here. I have watched films in class which I don't count as films that I've watched in my own time because they aren't. But within the classes I've watched lots of silent films from the pre-1930s early cinema, it's called. The two films I have watched for my own entertainment were Dr. Strangelove and Good Will Hunting. Personally I think that Good Will Hunting was an amazing film with a great performance from Matt Damon and Robin Williams. I didn't think that Dr. Strangelove was that good, a few comedic moments but that was it for me (sorry for all those Dr. Strangelove fans out there.)

I know on my previous post, I said I would post again sooner than the previous post and now its been 6 months, but anyway. I hope you guys enjoyed this post and I'll talk again sometime.

Hi,

I feel like it's so much easier to post via text than to do a vlog on my YouTube channel. But it has been two months since my last post on here so I'm here to chat about what's been going on.

First off I've made my short for my final major project at college and it's submitted. I enjoyed making that film because i liked the script the, plot, and the actors and crew I got to work with to make it.
University is where I'm headed in order to pursue a film career.

I plan to put more videos on YouTube. My film should be on YouTube soon...

Anyway, goodbye again, I'll be back sooner next time.

My Latest Update

I think it's about time I posted again on here. I have to say not much has gone on since my last post which was a review of the film, "Ender's Game", great science fiction action film. Back to the point.
I do have a bit of news, not sure if you know the TV show, "Breaking Bad," you probably do... I started watching it again a few nights ago after an extended break from it, I've moved on to the 2nd season, and it's gotten better. I'm giving it more of a chance. I do recommend you watch it (if you haven't already.)

Oh and I went out last thursday, on kind of a walk through the countryside, I have photos that I'll put on with this post, just a few there are two many to put them all on here. The stroll, as it were, took place in Surrey, England. There was one hill that when you atop it, you could see a crap load of countryside and hills obstructing our view of Brighton, a coastal town.

I'm also starting to work on my FMP(Final Major Project) for College, it should be great when it' done. It's a short drama film.

I guess I'll say goodbye for now.

FYI - I will get better at blogging but I'm just starting. In other words, the blogs will get more interesting.

BTW - if you haven't read my review of Ender's Game feel free to view it here - http://onefinallife.blogspot.co.uk/2014/02/ok-so-i-just-watched-enders-game.html

Defunct farmers machinery

I just think I got a great angle of this plant.

I found this temple/shelter, it looks quite cool.

Thisi is the inside of one of the building inside a fort closed down in 1906 after being built in the 1890s.

The main area within the fort.
I really liked the way I took this picture, the green grass wit the blue sky went really well together.  I  also captured the trees shadow on the grass.
This is the hill with the view I was boasting about, one of 25 to 50 shots I took whilst up here. The hills in the background are the hills obstructing your view from Brighton.

Ender's Game film review

Ok, so I just watched "Ender's Game", directed by Gavin Hood, based on the book by Orson Scott Card. It's the second time I've seen it and so it was nearly as good as the 1st time I watched it, being that the 1st viewing was at the cinema, that experience was probably better. Asa Butterfield leads the cast as Ender Wiggin, a boy that's very intelligent and sophisticated. I won't go too much into the films plot for people that haven't seen it yet, but I must tell you that the film is awesome and that it is definitely worth a watch if you haven't seen it yet.

The acting and the special effects I personally think make the film, and the screenplay is excellent. The special effects of this film are great and you get a real sense for science-fiction with the location and costumes used in the film as well as the weapons. The acting in the film is quite good, the emotion seen from Ender is excellent.

I do advise that if you enjoy/ed this film , go and watch Hugo that also stars Asa Butterfield.

Hailee Steinfield, who plays Petra Arkanian, can also be seen in the latest adaption of Romeo and Juliet, for who is a fan of Shakespeare.

Introductions

Hello,

Where to start, I'm 20, and studying to become a filmmaker of some sort. Directing, Screenwriting and editing films is the road I plan on going down, as well as a bit of acting, I need to improve at that. I made this blog so that I can talk about interesting things, maybe post some short stories and enjoy the ride.

One of my biggest interests is in films. Leonardo DiCaprio is one of my favourite actors. My favourite films are The Shawshank Redemption, Inception, The Wolf of Wall Street, The Green Mile and The Departed. Two of them have Leonardo DiCaprio in them.

Ok well I'll be back.
